Participating in the Cleanup is fun!
These tips can make your experience even better
Wear sturdy shoes- no sandals!
Bring bug spray and sunscreen
Wear old clothing
Bring along a 5-gallon bucket or bags
Donate the use of your flat bottom boat or canoe
| Help the Friends of the Shiawassee River and the Shiawassee County Health Department, Environmental Health Division as we work towards a cleaner river and healthier habitat!
The full River Cleanup will remove debris from the Shiawassee from Bancroft to Henderson.
Volunteers will be needed for the cleanup event and to scout for tires throughout the summer.

| Thanks for helping with the 2008 River Cleanup |
Thank you to all of our supporters, volunteers, and funders that made our full River Cleanup a success! Through funding from the Great Lakes Commission, the Friends of the Shiawassee River involved over 100 volunteers in Bancroft, Corunna, Henderson and Owosso.
Together, over 20 yards of debris was removed from the river habitat and a total of 112 tires were recycled through the grant and our partnership with the Shiawassee County Health Department, Environmental Health Division.
