Come enjoy a free lunch at the Owosso Amphitheater while we celebrate the success of our River Cleanup event and learn from our guest speaker Naim Edwards.

Those who indicated they will attend on the river cleanup registration do not need to register again.

This presentation will explore ways to manage soil to enhance water quality and address climate change. Naim will discuss how tillage and what we decide to grow in soil can be leveraged to restore ecosystems and communities. He will highlight the benefits of edible landscapes, food forests, and actions we can take to take better care of the Earth.

Naim Edwards is the director of the Michigan State University - Detroit Partnership for Food, Learning, and Innovation (DPFLI). He studied biology, evolution, and ecology at Morehouse College and the University of Michigan. While serving in the Peace Corps, Naim began to see agriculture as a solution to environmental, social, and economic injustice. As director of the DPFLI, he is committed to growing an abundance of food in eco-conscious ways, connecting people to nature, and creating space for learning and healing.

This free event is open to the public but you must register to attend!
